"I have Been visiting Plumery Tails Malamute Ranch for several years now. The first time my daughter Katie and I visited, that night we went back to our hotel and pretty much stalked their website. We were fascinated by these gentle giants. I fell in love with these pups. It was love at first sight.
I have another daughter named Sarah who has cerebral palsy. She always asks when we are going back to see Bret, Kim and the boys.
One time when I brought her, I was a little nervous because she is a little unsteady on her feet and the boys are pretty big.
As I was walking with her to go over to the swing to sit down, I can’t remember which two, but two of the taller boys walked up from behind and came right to each side of her as though they were protecting her as we walked. It was really something to see. Tundra likes to come up to Sarah and give her many kisses. Moosey loves to join Sarah on the swing. And Sarah loves to give them all many hugs and kisses.
If we weren’t three hours away, we’d visit the boys way more often. Bret and Kim are so welcoming. I felt like we had known them forever after the first time we met.
These malamutes couldn’t have a better mom and dad to love them. And they sure are loved.
Thank you Bret and Kim for sharing your beloved boys with us. 🥰🥰🥰"
"We lost our husky/malamute boy almost two years ago and fell in love with that breed since we lost ours our adult son always said he wants to give another a home to love, he came close to getting a malamute puppy from a breeder a couple times but put it off and now we know why, in February of this year you got ahold of our daughter (Charleen Graham) which lost the sister of our boy to let her know you knew someone that needed to rehome their female malamute so she took her home, they also had a male to rehome so of course our son went a couple days later to bring him home, Love them both, Thank you"
"A couple of years ago my sister and brother in law had been going to Bellevue, Iowa to Plumery Tail Malamute Ranch to see the dogs. Next time to go, he could not go, so my sister asked me to go with her. Seeing their pictures and hearing about these amazing dogs, I said yes, I really wanted to go. I had a very enjoyable visit with Bret and Kim and all the boys. You learn about the breed, the boys and how some have been rescued. They are all well behaved and of course all have very different personalities, but so loveable. It is interesting seeing all the things that have been done to the ranch. The owners, Kim and Bret make you feel very welcomed and explain everything. They do all they can to ensure you have a great visit. The dynamics of the 2 groups of dogs are very different. These are the biggest, best dogs you could ever go visit. I have now been there twice and if lived closer, would be there all the time. I am going again in October, to enjoy another visit. Everyone should go for a visit, I know if you do, you will want to go again. Just pure love and joy at the ranch. Carol Davidson"
We are incredibly grateful and appreciative to Bret and Kim for allowing us time with their 15 malamutes. First we were taken into their home and explained the history of the malamutes. Bret is a wealth of knowledge and an incredible writer of children’s books!
Then it was time for the pack to greet us. Standing on the hill outside of their backyard, 15 excited malamutes came bounding up to say hello. For 90 minutes, we provided tummy rubs and ear scratches to what we considered simply big puppies. Kim is a wonderful host and we were treated like family.
The majesty of these dogs, their gentleness and kindness was an experience we will never forget. After many hugs and our farewells, we left knowing that our understanding and appreciation of these dogs are forever changed. And dont leave until you visit the gift shop! A t- shirt, a mug and many pictures later, we left planning our next visit.
Plumery Tails Malamute Ranch is an experience. We cant wait to return.

We love visiting Plumery Tails Malamute Ranch. We live 3 hours away and try to get there 2 times a year. When asked which dog is your favorite, I can't pick just one. Each dog is special in their own way. The boys are so well taken care of and loved by Bret and Kim. We have a cookout/birthday party/bonfire night already scheduled for October. Some family members will be visiting for the first time and all are so excited for the event. It truly is a magical time when you visit the ranch!
A "Very Happy Tails" success story.
